The year-round
ARTIST RESIDENCY
offers local and international creatives
a space for reflection, experimentation, and artistic growth.
Nestled just a 20-minute walk from the historic city center and a 25-minute bus ride to the beach, the lovingly furnished live/work studio becomes both a sanctuary and a launchpad for your artistic journey.
This residency is ideal for artists with a deep interest in nature, mythology, fantasy, and the rich cultural tapestry of theApennine Peninsula.
Whether you are a visual artist, writer, dancer, photographer, performer, or
interdisciplinary creator, you are welcome here. We especially embrace artists who are seeking space not
only to create, but to pause. If you’re feeling burned out, exhausted from the relentless demand to
produce, know that here, doing nothing is deeply honored.
Nothing is the fertile beginning of everything.
Each resident is provided a private living space and studio, which includes a workspace and a living
space with a bathroom and a full kitchen. The studios and living quarters are designed to protect
residents’ time, space, and solitude.
Resident groups are intentionally kept small to support connection and exchange.
Many lifelong friendships have begun during the Trieste artist residency.
Visual artists, writers, dancers, land artists, photographers, performance artists, and interdisciplinary
artists are welcome here. Each year, these residents come to Trieste from across the globe to benefit
from the tranquil landscape and private live/work workspaces provided by the Trieste residency.
